The Beam will guide you home

I'm writing this on  Monday and have finally sat down to get these posts done. Tomorrow is a busy day for me as I have two Stamping events.  I decided that I'd like to use the the new High Tide Stamp set from the Occasions Catalog that I haven't used yet.  My group that meets in the afternoon on the 4th Tuesday of every month are seasoned stampers so this card is a bit more involved.

Masking and sponging technique.  Made the beam extended on the right by stamping off on post it paper (to use on left side when sponging the sky), then stamping on the right. I made a mask with typing paper to lay on the card to sponge the beam darker and extend it out. Easy to do just stamp on the typing paper then take a ruler and extend the beam, cut the inside out so when you lay this on the paper the beam is open and the rest of the card is covered. Guess I should have taken a picture of this. (Let me know if you want me to add a picture)

Hey come on back tomorrow and check out a much easier card that a new group of stampers will be doing!

Life is Sweeter... Try Stampin' challenge #310

Hello everyone, hmmm wonder who is reading this?  Have you ever wondered if anyone reads or looks at your blog?  If you would be so kind I really would like to know if anyone reads this blog, I spend a little time trying to make it a nice place to visit and just wonder if anyone is...visiting.

Time for another Try Stampin' card challenge, our theme for the next two weeks (if you choose to use it) is Sweet Thoughts,
When I designed this card sketch I just picked a shape for the front and now that Valentines Day is past seems many of us have substituted with a different shape and you know what... that is just fine! So if you have an idea go for it!!!

I'm posting this on Sat. and one of my weekly chores that I do on Sat. is to make cookies for the weeks lunch boxes.  I found out quickly (having four sons and a husband working) that if I left the cookies in the tuperware container that I use for them after baking that by mid week I was baking again.  Now although Life is Sweeter when baking  :0)  I do get tired of it.  My solution!!!!  make a double batch on Sat. and put enough in bags in the freezer for the week!! (they all know that the cookies in the freezer are only to be used in lunch boxes) So that is up next on my agenda for the day.   What about you? do you have tricks that make your life easier? I'd love to hear about it.

My card : Sweet thoughts... in my house include anything chocolate! We live on a farm and have chickens that lay brown eggs. (Not sure what I'd do with a white egg-ha ha ha)

Thought I'd try a little creative photo taking, what do you think? Does it help or take away from the card?
Have a wonderful day and I do hope you'll decide to play with us, oh and thanks for stopping by.   :0)

Happy Birthday accordian card

Here is another birthday card for another sister in law. Alice loves flowers also and she puts many out in the flower beds around the house but also has many in pots.  This is another AI watercolor card and I made this one up myself.  I hand drew the pot, water colored and decorated it then added the greenery and flowers.  Sometimes we as stampers get so many  supplies that we tend to only use whats newest.  Well I've had this Karen Burniston  accordion card pivot card die for some time and have used it a few times but not lately.  I love making interactive card for people so pulled this out to use on Alice's card  Happy, happy birthday Alice whose birthday is Feb. 15th.

AI Water colored birthday card

I have been enjoying playing with some new stamps from a company - Art Impressions.  The stamps they make for their water coloring line all go together.  I have a few of their basic sets like the foliage and flowers sets and they go nicely with the barn set, the covered bridge, and the mail box sets that I have.  I love how everything is sized to work together. It really takes the guess work out and puts a smile on my face! I love knowing that if I get something new it will be able to be used with what I already have.  Here is a card that I actually made while following a you tube instructor (I believe is was Bonnie).  That's another thing I love about this company they have videos showing how to make cards using the stamp sets. If I'm remembering right only 5 stamps were used on this card and the fence was made using molotow which is a type of making fluid.

I made this card for a sister in law that loves flowers.  I do hope she likes it.  I'm still learning so don't be to harsh.  Her birthday is on Feb. 14 so I had to wait to post this. Happy, Happy birthday Gloria.

Nailed It for Valentines Day!

How about another Occasions Catalog card, this one uses the Nailed It bundle.  So neat to get the stamps and dies to cut them out.  I have two sons that work in construction so I do believe this set will be well used.  I can also see me suing this bundle to add to scrapbook pages. (if and when I find the time to get them out again)

Don't we all need a wreath on our front door?  Well this one is filled with hearts just in time for Valentines Day.

Avant Garden free set from SAB

Here I've used a free set from theSale-A-Bration catalog  this set was one that I thought was lovely. It has both images and sayings that I really liked.  I know who needs another flower stamp?  But it is so lovely I couldn't pass it up.  I've always loved yellow and orange flowers so of course my first card would include those colors.

I have been playing with some of my new products from Stampin' Ups 2017 Occasions catalog and the Sale-A-Bration freebies.  Those are so much fun! who doesn't like to get something free?   This card is made from the Special Reason Bundle.  I really love how these dies work together to make the positive and negative look.  It is a great addition to a stampers "Stash"  :0)

Pop and Twist Valentine for Try Stampin' Tuesday challenge 308

I have another card for you for the Try Stampin' Tuesday challenge.  I guess I'll be the outlaw this time since I'm not posting a card that uses the sketch.  I want everyone to remember that we suggest a sketch but that doesn't mean you can't enter if you don't want to use it. I am using the theme - hugs and kisses- as  my card was made for my husband for Valentines day.
Card Sketch:

I have been noticing this type of card on pinterest and wanting to make one, so since I had some time one day last week I sat down and Wala it came together.   :0)     Now I'm ready for Valentines Day and it won't sneek up on me.  How about you, do you make a special card for your "honey"?  Hope you join us with a card for this two weeks.  Have fun stamping!!!
